Prison Education Project Cameroon

Following the alarming rise of the number of prisoners in Cameroon's prisons, Prisoner's Support Cameroon has come up with the program called the Prison Education Project to expands educational opportunities for inmates facilities in the Buea Central Prison and other jammed packed prisons in Cameroon. With the assistance of 100 university student and faculty volunteers, Prisoner's Support Cameroon has serviced approximately 1,500 inmates in the cells. PSC is going to be the largest volunteer-based prison education program of its kind in Cameroon because of the numerous support we have been getting from educational authorities. PSC aims to educate, empower, and transform the lives of incarcerated individuals. The goal of PSC is to create a "Prison-to-School Pipeline" and provide in-custody students with the cognitive tools necessary to function as productive citizens. Our multi-layered approach enhances human development, reduces recidivism, saves resources, and allows participants to ultimately contribute to the economic and civic life of Cameroon. The overarching philosophy of PEP is to use the resources in the backyard of each of the state’s prisons to make change e.g. university student and faculty volunteers of the University of Buea. Be a part of this giant project to help contribute to the education of inmates in and around Cameroon. Donate today and safe a career from plunging into the deep.
